I have fibromyalgia and am very fatigued all the time. I really can't work because of it, but I've been trying to keep my job because we need the money. It has just gotten too hard though, and I need to quit. I am wondering if there are any disability benefits I may be able to get for fibroymalgia so that I can stop working and try to get better?

It can be somewhat difficult to get disability benefits for fibryomyalgia due to the nature of the illness. Because there is nothing that can be confirmed medically for fibromyalgia patients, SSA generally does not recognize fibro as a disorder, and it is not on their list of impairments that qualify you for a disability. However, some patients have successfully applied for disability and proven they are disabled on the basis of their fibro. This will involve submitting sufficient medical evidence, such as a diagnosis from a doctor, and evidence that your activities are severely impaired. You will likely want to speak to an experienced social security disability attorney who can help you prepare your application and data to maximize your chances of being able to qualify for social security disability benefits for fibromyalgia.
