Workmen’s Compensation and Social Security Disability are two very different programs even though they both protect disabled workers. Workmen’s Compensation pays partial and temporary benefits. Social Security does not. Your Social Security benefit amount is determined by your average lifetime earnings during the years you were able to work. The only factors that might increase your benefit payments would be finding proof that Social Security did not have evidence all of your income during your work years or if you had more than one period of disability with a period of work in-between that might increase your average lifetime earnings. If you think, there may be an error in your work record you should contact Social Security and ask to see a copy of it.
