Lung Disease

Individuals who suffer from lung disease and are unable to work in any occupation may be qualified for disability protection. Conditions such as chronic pulmonary insufficiency, asthma, pneumoconiosis, cystic fibrosis and emphysema are some of the medical conditions that may qualify for Social Security disability benefits in the United States. Individuals may have coverage by Social Security Disability Insurance or for Supplement Security Income. In order to qualify, individuals must be unable to work in any occupation and must have a doctor-diagnosed condition, which will last for 12 consecutive months or end in death. If you believe that you are qualified for Social Security benefits, visit a Social Security office locally or fill out an application online.
